Mounted into CD slot in MX5 NC (3rd gen) places it at excellent viewing hight, just high enough not to interfere with gear changes. Mount is really strong, holding in place over UK potholes no problem. The supplied USB-C cable is a bit long so replaced with a 30cm one and a 90 degree adaptor to run the cable back rather than down initially. I use it with an amazon Alexa car device (1st gen) so audio can go into the cars AUX port over bluetooth, to avoid any cables into the iPhone. As the iPhone is charging it will go into standby mode so will display the track and album art in landscape mode or radio station. Google Maps / Apple Maps both work well. Who needs car play :-) - Superb and well constructed bit of kit.
